Hello, my name is John Parnell.

I am a Grandad with 12 Grandchildren.

I am also known as the “Hoop Guy” and made it to the Semi-Finals of Britain’s Got Talent in 2017.

My business, Hoop Guy Ltd was also selected as one of the top 100 Small Businesses in the UK which also resulted in me receiving a personal invitation to visit number 10 Downing Street at the end of November 2017.

I live in Nuneaton, but work at schools as far away as Darlington, Reading, Shrewsbuury, and Kings Lynn, as well as lots of schools in both the East and West Midlands.

This year (2018) I also have 42 speaking bookings at Women’s Institutes around Warwickshire and Leicestershire which again helps me to get the word out about getting children fitter and excited about active play using Hula Hoops.

As the group leader for Networking Mummies Nuneaton I love to help others reach their potential, and pass on the marketing tips and hints that have helped me and Hoop Guy Ltd to become so well known.

Networking is important for all businesses, and I love the wway Networking Mummies helps Mums (and Dads) with young children who struggle to attend standard business networking groups due to time restraints with the school run and childcare issues.

At Nuneaton we have a wonderful meeting venue, with a great children’s play area to keep all children occupied while we all chat and help each other to grow our businesses.

Awards are a vital part to marketing your business, Having the words Award Nominee, or Award Winner on your website, social media platforms will immediately put your business a head of others. But we, as people are really bad at nominating ourselves, yet we are the best people to do it as only WE know our own story.

In this workshop I will cover What Awards to look for, what to avoid, how to fill in a nomination form to give yourself the best opportunity to be noticed by judges, how to get the most out of an Award nomination.
